More detailed description
Enter the house through tall wooden doors, and find yourself in a large, light and bright entrance hall, with a ceiling stretching up to the full height of the next floor. Ahead lies the spacious living room (45 sqm), with an open fireplace and large comfortable sofas set around an elegant coffee table. The floor tiles give the room a cool and traditionally southern touch, counterbalanced by the cozy and comfortable rugs for a homey feel.
To the right of the living room is the dining room (26 sqm) which seats eight to ten people. Both the living room and dining room feature French doors opening onto the outside sitting area, shaded from the hot sun under large arches, and complete with Indonesian and Moroccan furniture – the perfect sport for a midday or evening glass of rosé.
The outdoor sitting area looks out onto a lawn, and offers a truly breathtaking view of the local area. Steps lead off the lawn and up to the swimming pool, located on a higher level, and surrounded by another seating area, complete with an imposing fireplace and a Summer kitchen with a large table and chairs for outdoor Summer meals . You’ll also find sun loungers on either side of the pool, as well as a gorgeous green pergola which houses a hammock, the ideal place to relax.
The house benefits from a 24 sqm television room and study room, with a wide screen television (with free view SKY TV) and DVD player. The large kitchen (32 sqm), with its mix of wood, stone and modern steel, and its selection of colourful pottery displayed on the open shelving, is a prime example of Provençal style. It features traditional wooden beams, is fully equipped with a range style double oven (gas and electric), two dishwashers, a microwave, an American fridge/freezer and a state of the art coffee/espresso machine, and can sit eight to ten people.
The grand staircase, with its wrought iron railing, will take you to the first floor, where you will find the bedrooms. The magnificent master bedroom – The Fragonard Suite – is spacious and bright, and offers the comfort of a super king-size bed, and the luxury of an ensuite shower and bath with a view (together, 41 sqm). Sit in the bath with a glass or champagne or with your partner (or preferably both!) and enjoy the stunning view across the olive trees and to the Mediterranean. It doesn’t get any more luxurious than that! The next bedroom – The Room with the View – is also a double room (15 sqm) with an en suite shower-room and wc. The glorious view from this bedroom can be appreciated from either the bed or the shower. On this level there is another large room (23 sqm) – The Four-Poster Room – with an antique four-poster double bed. Just next to this room is a bathroom and wc. There is also a large utility room with full facilities for washing and drying clothes.
Other bedrooms are located in the Olive Grove apartments. The house is a family home (in use outside the Summer season), and is tastefully decorated and designed as a home, not as a secondary residence. The main house is a stone building and retains the cool in the Summer, but all bedrooms and living rooms still have ceiling fans.
Enjoy your stay in this gorgeous villa and wonderful area of France!
